Class in Session

Today I helped my sister decorate her 5th grade classroom. I always enjoy getting her room ready for a new school year. This year, she will continue teaching her 4th graders from last year to 5th grade and they have no idea! I'm sure her students will be really excited. I spent the rest of the day with Mary Claire. I'm moving into my apartment September 1 and I cannot be more excited! :)

Back to School

As my friends (including teacher friends) are starting their school year, it gets me thinking of first day of school outfits. I used to plan the "perfect" outfit a week or two before school started. Oh, how it has changed! I think it's fun to get excited about what to wear, but sometimes the best outfits are the ones that are spontaneous and unplanned. School is the best time to get to know your personal style before you have less options to experiment when you start your career. Good luck to all my friends starting a new school year!

Mondrian Dress

Today I spotted my Mondrian Dress in The Hundred Dresses. I purchased this dress from Forever 21 in 2007 and still wear it till this day. It really is unique and I receive compliments whenever I wear it. It has traveled the world with me and is my comfiest dress I own. This dress is a remake of the original Yves Saint Laurent dress. Do you have an item that you love to wear more throughout the years?

Summer Read

I am currently reading The Hundred Dresses by Erin McKean. It has the most iconic dresses of our time and where they all started from. Each style includes an illustration of the dress on a model. It's such a good summer read, especially for the fashionistas out there! What books have you read this summer? I'm always on the lookout for a good fashion read. Any suggestions?

Chicago Cupcake

Wednesdays are always my favorite day of the week. I always think optimistically of being more than half way to the weekend! On this particular day, I went on two interviews in the city. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a few places. ;) I made a realization today that interviews are like a date. You can tell if it's going well or not and they call you if they are interested! It was such a gorgeous day to walk around downtown. After my interviews, I treated myself to the cutest cupcake from Magnolia Bakery!

1 Year at Herve!

Today marks my one year anniversary at Herve Leger! I can't believe it's already been one year at my favorite place. I couldn't ask for a better store for high fashion in the suburbs. Right now as I am planning my move to the city, I am looking to transfer to another store location. No matter where the city takes me, I will always remember my first high-fashion job! :)
